“Come with you?” She looked at him with a smile. “I don’t know Usopp, the village.” She looked back at the quiet town, then back to him. “How long did you say you have until you leave?”

He sighed softly. ”Just until tomorrow…we were only stopping in for a supply refill…”

“Usopp, talk to Luffy to make sure that it’s alright. I don’t wanna come on the ship univited by the captain.” She smiled at him.

Kaya looked at Usopp and turned his head back to where she was and locked lips with him.

”!!”

Usopp turned even more red as she kissed him, but was surprised at how instinctively his body reacted. He closed his eyes almost immediately, and found his arms wrapping around her.

Kaya wrapped her arms around Usopp’s neck and smiled into the kiss, happy that he had finally confessed to her.

After a moment, he pulled back to smile at her. ”I’m sorry…” he whispered. ”Sorry it took so long…”

“Don’t be sorry, that’s all in the past.” she smiled rubbing her nose with his own. “You told me, and that’s all the matters.”

“…but now I don’t want to leave you,” he confessed. ”I’m torn - I want to achieve my dreams, but I don’t want to leave you Kaya…”

Kaya blinked a few times, a bit confused. “What do you mean Usopp? You’re speaking in riddles, just tell me what’s on your mind.”

Usopp almost visibly facepalmed. Too subtle. So he took another deep breath and spoke the one thing he feared the most - the truth.

“Kaya…you’re the one I want to be with.”

At his words, Kaya’s confusion turned into a smile as she kissed his nose. “It’s about time you told me.”

He flushed an interesting color of red as he gawked and grinned at her. ”Y-you knew? All this time? Why didn’t you say anything?”

Usopp bit his lip and glared at the ground. Why in the hell was there someone else there before him? Who was this impostor? He stubbornly kicked the dirt.

Kaya looked over at him. “Usopp, are you..okay?”

“I’M FINE,” Usopp blurted, a bit too loudly. ”I’m fine. I’m sure this other guy’s just…more interesting…” He glared at a nearby squirrel. It seemed like a suitable target to take his anger out on.

“Hey…” She said taking his arm. “This other Usopp…he hasn’t been around for a long time..I…I don’t think he’s more interesting, how can I if he’s never here? He was once, but..that was a long time ago.” She said looking out at the sea.

“Well…I’m not here either,” Usopp grumbled. ”I go out to sea too. And what do I do if this guy just sails back in like it’s nothing?”

“Usopp,” She took his hand turning to him smiling lightly. “I promise that nothing will happen if he does come back.”

Usopp blushed as he looked at her. ”…really?” It was clear he was shy and insecure about it.
